At Symbology, it's our jam to make social responsibility sexy. So it's no surprise that we jumped at the opportunity to make the newest accessory--aka the ubiquitous face mask--stylish and sustainable. Cause those N95s aren't really sparking joy in any of us, k?
We took excess fabric from our Summer production to create these gorgeous little masks, ranging from our most popular geometric and botanical prints. And yes, the leopard print. Meowwww.
We want to be clear that these are not medical-grade masks; however, they help limit the spread of Covid-19 via droplets emitted into the air. By wearing your mask, practicing social distancing, and adopting a safe and healthy lifestyle, we can all contribute to stopping the spread of Covid-19.
Ethical Face Mask Features:- Outer fabric made with modal and organic cotton
- Lined with cotton
- Pocket for filter
- Hand and machine washable
- Black elastic (to make sure your makeup doesn't stain it all up)
How to Wash:
Put in the washing machine on the gentle cycle with hot water for sanitization or wash by hand and let sit in the sun to disinfect. Let the mask sit out for 2-3 days to allow any potential virus molecules to die off.
Why It's Important:
It’s no doubt that masks have become one of the most popular accessories. While there are people who may not have access to medical-grade masks, fashion brands are making strong efforts to make masks available to the world. Although these masks are not medical-grade, they are certainly better than nothing. Wearing a mask can protect the people around you from the spread of droplets. It’s also recommended that doubling up on a mask can offer better protection.
All of our masks at Symbology have a pocket where you can insert a paper filter to keep protection strong and breathable. Having multiple masks on hand has been a useful tip when it comes to cleaning your mask. If you have a few that you can cycle through, you can sanitize the masks that need it while still looking fresh and fabulous. After finishing our Summer Collection, we decided to upcycle our scrap material and start making masks that offer safety and style, because who said you can't have both?! Making masks has allowed us to cut back on our own waste, and make environmentally friendly masks available to the customers we love so much. By using naturally derived materials, all of our masks are breathable and biodegradable, making life safe and beautiful from start to end. How To Use Your Mask Properly

Restrain from touching your mask as best as you can. Touching your mask could place the germs from the surfaces you’re touching directly to your mouth, and no one wants that, honey bun.

Doubling up on masks can add another layer of protection. All of our Symbology masks have a pocket where you can easily insert and replace paper filters.

It goes without saying, but wash them hands! Sanitizing your hands before and after you put on your mask can limit the spread of germs to your mouth, nose and eyes.

Having a few masks on hand to cycle through on laundry days can do wonders. By having multiple masks you can clean one while wearing another pre-washed mask. This way you don’t have to compromise safety for style!
