We're bursting at the seams to share with you that Symbology has been featured in the Spring 2017 Box of Style by Rachel Zoe. We collaborated on an exclusive design with Zoe for the special edition box, which features items made by women-owned companies. As huge fans of all things Zoe, we were beyond honored to be selected as one of her featured brands.
Zoe selected an art deco themed peacock design for her scarf, which she recommends styling many creative ways on Box of Style. The order for this scarf has employed over 100 artisans in India and trained 10 women in the art of screen printing. Our artisan team trained these how to screen print specifically for this order, providing them with several months of wages and highly employable skills.
I had the opportunity to meet with our new artisan partners and share stories of collaboration. They told me how empowering the process was, and how they were able to provide for their families for the first time. The order is especially timely because many poor families in India have struggled due to the recent demonetization declaration by Prime Minister Modi.
I decided to join forces with my friend and fellow entrepreneur Priti Pugalia to create special branded boxes for Symbology that will continue to provide jobs for these women using the skills they acquired for the order. Stay tuned, we can't wait to share with you!
